In the past bed rest was suggested. It is now believed that this will lead to inactivity which becomes problematic for hurt muscles. Dr. Fry also advised that I should increase my vitamin C intake to the point of developing diarrhea. From there cut back to 75% of the amount. Protein is also believed to speed healing of hurt muscles.

One of my favorite adages is, “an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of medicine.” I believe in stretching before a work out. Some reason that an easy warm-up is all we need. Possibly a blend of both would be sensible. Always stretch out after a workout.
